Valve Spindle / Seat
Valve Spindle / Seat
Worn valve spindles & seats (Normal Steel or Nimonic Type) are machined down to sound material, and rebuilt with recommended materials by specialised welding process/Plasma Transfer Arc techniques . Worn valve stems are restored to the original by chromium plating or thermal spray processes.
Valve Housing
Valve Housing
Cast iron valve housing are often exposed to material loss at the exhaust gas passage from burning & cold corrosion. The corrosion is due to the formation of excessive sulphuric acid during cooling interval of the main engine. These affected areas are built up with nickel overlays by our skilled welders. The final stage by grinding to smooth profile is critical as this will enable efficient gas flow to the exhaust manifold, with minimum turbulence.
New Spare Parts Supply
New Spare Parts Supply
We supply full range of cylinder liners, cylinder covers, piston crowns, piston skirts, cooling jackets, crankshafts, fuel pumps and others.
Exchange Program
Exchange Program
DMS worldwide Exchange Program offers client the convenience of exchanging their worn piston crown, cylinder cover, exhaust valve spindle and seat with our reconditioned ones at no extra cost. This arrangement contributes to substantial cost & time savings for the clients/ships.
Propeller Repairing
Propeller Repairing
Defects to be removed by grinding to sound material.Dye check to ensure no crack.Rebuild up by MIG welding with backing plate acc. to LR’s approved WPS.Repaired areas are grinded, polished and dye check.

Port charges are one of the main overhead items of transportation costs. Some shipping companies’ port commissions account for more than 1/4 of the total cost, second only to fuel costs and ship repair costs. Therefore, saving port fees is a problem that ocean shipping companies must pay attention to in order to reduce transportation costs. Generally speaking, the ways for the ship to save port charges can be reflected in the following aspects: 1. The shipowner must understand and master the charging rules of various fees in each port, and the adjustment of the rates. 2. The shipowner should pay great attention to reasonable arrangements for the ship's various operations in the port, and make corresponding records. 3. Correctly grasp the time of entry and exit of ships. Efforts should be made to get in and out of the port during the day, because the port pilotage, tugboat, mooring and other costs of ports in various countries will increase surcharges at nigh...

A few days ago, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the European Commission (EC) decided to develop a method for accurately measuring carbon dioxide emissions from ships, and the shipping industry welcomes this. Previously, the greenhouse gas research responsible for the IMO was mostly based on top-down data. The data was based on one year as a reference time, and the fuel consumption estimates of different ship types were collected as the main data source. Although such data is obviously inaccurate, from the current point of view, these data are still worthy of reference, and are widely cited in various debates about the contribution of ship carbon emissions to the solution of environmental protection issues. The current third wave of research will use real data on board each ship's voyage. In this way, the reliability of the data will be enhanced, but it needs to find a sure way to measure and organize the data. In addition, in order to ...

Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS) is another great technological revolution in ship navigation after radar/ARPA. It has developed into a new type of ship navigation system and auxiliary decision-making system. It can not only give the ship's position continuously, but also provide various information related to navigation, effectively preventing various dangerous situations. At present, there are more than 200,000 ships installed with electronic charts in the world. With the gradual completion of national official electronic charts (ENC), the emergence of standard ECDIS, and the approval of IMO, ECDIS will completely replace paper charts in the next 10 years and become a comprehensive means of processing maritime information in the 21st century. The electronic chart has attracted great attention because it has the advantages that traditional paper charts cannot match. The electronic chart system can carry out automatic route design, hea...
